Fun with Your Dog
Dogs love to play. With toys, each other and especially with you!Simple “play fetch” can make most dogs happy, but why not try something different? Here are some ideas:

At Home Activities

Doggie Hide and Seek
This game is just like what we played when we were kids – except it only takes two people (and a dog, of course) to play. Safe, confined area, like at home or fenced backyard is recommended for this game. Have one person hold the dog and cover his eyes while other person hides. After a few minutes, let the dog go. You can call your dog’s name if he has a trouble finding you. When your dog finds you, don’t forget to give a lots of praise (and give treats, too!).

Dog Biscuit Hunt
This game is pretty much like Easter egg hunt. Hide small biscuits or kibbles throughout the house and let him find them. You may have to let him watch you hiding biscuits or show him where the first one until your dog gets the point of this game. As soon as he gets the point of the game, he will just go at them!

Outdoor Activities

Agility
Agility is a sporting event that involves directing your dog through a series of obstacles such as hurdles, tunnels and so on. The goal is to complete the course in the highest score or the quickest time possible.

Flyball
Flyball is a relay race with four dogs on a team. Each dog jumps the hurdles and steps on a box that shoots out a tennis ball. The dog catches the tennis ball and runs back over the four hurdles. When the dog crosses the starting line the next dog goes. The first team to have all four dogs run without errors wins the game.

Hiking with Dogs
Spring is finally here! How about appreciating great nature with your dog? Read Hiking with Your Dog page for more information.

Camping with Dogs
Camping with your dog sounds fun? It can be even more fun with other dog lovers and a lot of educational, fun activities designed just for dogs. Dog Scouts of America offers great camping programs. Visit their website and see what it’s all about.
