Things You Can Do with Your Dog's Photo

So, you took a lot of pictures of your dog… now what!? There are many cool things you can do with them. Here are some ideas:

Photo Enhancement:
Simply printing (or developing) pictures and putting them in frames would make nice decoration, but enhancing photos using a photo editing software could take your photos to the next level.

If you used a digital camera, first thing you may want to do is to upload the pictures onto your computer. Using a photo editing software (many digital cameras come with some sort of photo editing software), you can enhance your pictures. The types of enhancement you can experiment are endless: resize; turn them into different color, such as black & white and sepia; fix the red eye; remove unwanted objects and so on. If you don’t have a photo editing program, there are websites that let you download it for free or offer a service that let you upload and edit your photos on their site. With reasonable fees, you can order prints from them (see merchant information below).

You don’t have a digital camera? Don’t worry; there are still ways to enhance your photos. You can scan them and upload to your computer and enhance them with photo editing program. Just make sure your dpi (dots per inch) is at least 300 dpi for best results.

Personalized Items:
Isn’t it nice to drink a cup of coffee with a mug that has your dog on it? How about wearing a t-shirt of your dog’s cute face? With your dog’s picture, you can make a personalized mug, t-shirt, mouse pad, calendar, magnets, coasters, etc…

Pet Portraits:
Many artists offer drawing your dog’s portrait using your favorite picture. You can choose different techniques, such as charcoal, pencil and watercolor; depending on what the artist offers. Many artists offer their services on their websites or online auctions. Either way, it is a good idea to go through their online galleries and decide the style you like the most. Price depends on the size of the portrait, number of animals on a portrait, technique, etc. Communicate well with the artist and be sure to know what you are getting with the price you pay. Pet Photo Contest:
Enter your dog’s photo to a contest. Just entering itself is fun, but you can also win prizes, or even be a cover of pet product catalogs or magazines. Keep your eye out for photo contest events. Not only online, but also your local pet supply stores occasionally have in-store photo contests and many of them offer prizes. Be sure to follow their entry guidelines. See Dog Freebies page for contests information.
