Steel, plastic or wood are the materials used for pet gates. Most pet gates are intended to use indoors. Many sizes are available to fit the opening or the area you need the gate. Installing pet gates are easy – pressure mounting or wall mounting are the common methods of mounting pet gates. Pressure mounting gate can be removed easily so that you can use it only when and where you need it. Wall mounting gate is sturdy and cannot easily be tipped over. Some gates have walk through features that allow you to get to the other side easily.
When choosing a pet gate, make sure to choose the one that fits your dog’s behavior. For example, if your dog is an aggressive chewer, you may not want to pick a plastic gate or a wooden gate with plastic mesh. A gate with wire mesh may not be a good choice either because your dog can hurt his/her teeth and/or mouth when chewing. A gate with strong metal slats may be a better choice for an aggressive chewer.
